While rakeback is not available at Poker Stars they are still the largest online poker room with a peak player count of nearly 40,000 real money players. There is always a high volume of games available regardless of the time of day.
For new players, Poker Stars offers a 100% up to $600 sign up bonus for all players who make their first deposit. The bonus clears in a lump sum at a rate of 17 VPPs per $1, the equivalent of a 35% rakeback rate at full ring games and 32% rakeback shorthanded and at tournaments.
Poker Stars does not allow affiliates to offer rakeback, but they offer a VIP Program which takes the place of rakeback and is very lucrative to frequent players. The program offers a variety of different perks, but to rakeback-minded players they will be most interested in the cash rewards. Players are compensated in two ways at PokerStars. The first way players are rewarded is by reaching VPP milestones called Stellar Rewards; Milestone Rewards are awarded when you reach SuperNova status. Players can also exchange FPPs for bonuses in the VIP store. Players can effectively earn both simultaneously yielding returns up to 48%. See the chart below for a summary of the benefits of this program. See Promotions page for additional details.

Obviously, there are tons of No Limit Hold'em tables available as the game is still by far the most popular poker game to play today. No Limit Hold'em is heavily available up to $10/$20, but is also offered at limits ranging from $0.01/$0.02 up to $200/$400. Some of the higher stake No Limit Hold'em tables have the "Daniel's Room" label, which are exclusive high stakes tables with antes. Even if you can't play them, you are more than welcome to railbird them. Fixed Limit Hold'em is plentiful up to $10/$20 with some miscellaneous action up to $50/$100. Pot Limit Omaha is the third most popular game, with healthy action up to $10/$20. There are also players frequently playing at Pot Limit and Fixed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud, Stud Hi/Lo and Razz.
Other games outside the norm include Draw games such as 5 Card Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw and 2-7 Single Draw. Mixed games include HORSE, HOSE, Mixed Hold'em, Mixed Omaha Hi/Lo, 8-Game and Pot Limit Hold'em/Omaha. HORSE consists of Hold'em, Omaha H/L, Razz, Stud and Stud Hi/Lo. In HOSE, Razz is not played. Poker Stars even runs a Badugi game, which is similar to a four card Triple Draw Game since the lowest hand wins. Unlike some sites, games actually run at most of these tables, although oftentimes it is the smaller limits that see the majority of the play.
Cash games at No Limit Hold'em come in standard speed or Fast varieties. In Fast games, the blinds are automatically posted for you and players only have 15 seconds to act versus 30 on a normal table. PokerStars also offers a bunch of different Pot Limit and No Limit Hold'em buy-in levels to accommodate the styles and preferences of various players -- 20-50 Big Blinds, 40-100 Big Blinds and for that wish to play very deep stacks- 100-250 Big Blinds. Ante tables are also offered for No Limit Hold'em.

As the biggest site in online poker, PokerStars offers more tournaments than any other site. Their Sunday Million, held each Sunday at 4:30 PM ET/20:30 GMT, has a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million, larger than an entire week's worth of tournaments on some sites. On February 21st, 2010, the prize pool reached over $7 million.
They also offer two other huge multi-table tournaments on Sunday- the $200+$15 Sunday Warm-up held at 1 PM ET/18:00 GMT with a $750,000 guaranteed prize pool. The Sunday 500, with a buy-in of $500+$30, has a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool and is held at 5:30 PM ET/21:30 GMT. Sunday of course isn't the only day that PokerStars offers big prize pools. Dozens of guarantee tournaments run daily at various game types.
PokerStars offers satellites to the biggest live tournament events in the world. Chris Moneymaker famously won his WSOP entry through PokerStars. In addition to offering satellites to the World Series of Poker, they also run satellites to the European Poker Tour, Asian Pacific Poker Tour, Australia New Zealand Poker Tour, Latin American Poker Tour, Italian Poker Tour, UK Poker Tour North American Poker Tour and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Players can qualify for many of these events with low buy-in satellites or FPPs.
If Hold'em isn't your game, you can participate in tournaments in almost any game type: Draw, Pot Limit Omaha, Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud, Stud Hi/Lo, Razz and even tournaments in multiple games. Tournament styles come in Knockouts, Deep Stacks, Turbo, Hyper Turbo and 2x Turbo. If you are a tournament player, there will always be a tournament for you at PokerStars.

Poker Stars has more Sit N Go action than any online poker site. Players can find action at almost any game on the site. If you can't find the Sit N Go you are looking for at Poker Stars it is unlikely you will be able to locate it anywhere. Sit N Gos are offered at standard games such as Hold'em, Omaha and Stud as well as non-standard games such as Badugi, Triple Stud and maybe more.
Sit N Go tables are offered with 2 (Heads-up) to 360 seats (40 tables) with action available at all tables. Tournament Speeds include Hyper, Turbo and even Slow for certain heads-up tables.
Sit N Go satellite tables are available for Live Events and guaranteed online tournaments such as the special Sunday tournaments and WCOOP events, PokerStars's popular World Cup of Online Poker Tournament Series.
Poker Stars has an interesting twist on Double or Nothing tournaments. With Fifty50 Sit N Gos, the tournament will end when half of the players have been elimated with the remaining players receiving a payout based on the amount of chips that players have at the end of the tournament. Poker Stars also offers Step Sit N Gos, consisting of different buy-in levels. Players can enter low buy-in steps and climb the ladder to win entry to increasingly large buy-ins.

Example: At a $1/$2 fixed limit Hold'em game with 6 players seated and dealt cards, $0.25 in rake would be taken for each $5 in the pot up to a total of $1 in rake. Once the pot reaches $20, no additional rake is taken. "5%" represents the % of the pot that is raked from the table at the time the rake is taken. Because many pots do not end up being raked (i.e. if no flop is seen) or if the pot is in between rake levels, effective rake levels are lower.
FPPs are earned alongside VPPs, which are earned at a rate of 6 per $1 of rake at your tables at full ring and 5.5 per $1 of rate at shorthanded or MTTs/SNGs. Players than receive FPPs according to a multiplier of VPPs based on status level. FPPs can be used for tournament entries or for use in the VIP store at a rate of up to $0.016 per FPP. Items include electronics, bonuses, tournament tickets and much more. For more information see VIP Program.

The VIP Program at PokerStars can be very rewarding. Perks include cash rewards, bonuses and VIP tournament entries, to name a few. Players can qualify for the various Status Levels at PokerStars by earning VPPs, which are earned at a rate of 6 per $1 of rake at your table at full ring games and 5.5 per $1 of rake at shorthanded or MTTs/SNGs.
Below is a chart that details the various status levels at Poker Stars, the amount of VPPs required to achieve the status, the equivalent amount of rake required during a monthly or yearly period along with the number of FPPs that are earned per VPP. Poker Stars does not offer rakeback, but instead compensates players via their VIP Program. Players are given rakeback-like rewards in two ways – through Stellar /Milestone Rewards and by using FPPs to purchase and clear bonuses from the store.
Stellar Rewards are awarded to players as they achieve various VPP milestones. Upon hitting a milestone, players can purchase a "Stellar Reward" from the VIP store for an insignificant cost of 1 FPP. Once players have earned 100,000 VPPs, they will be in the SuperNova VIP status level and will now be eligible for "Milestone Rewards." These cash rewards are similar to Stellar Rewards but must be purchased for 50,000 FPPs.
The chart below summarizes the Stellar Rewards and Milestone Rewards awarded to players, along with the equivalent rake needed to be earned for Full Ring and Shorthanded, SNGs and MTTs. All numbers are cumulative.

On the last Sunday of the month, PokerStars is running the Turbo Takedown tournament, which will award a $1,000,000 prize pool with an Audi TT awarded to the winner. Cash bonuses and pro player bounties will also be given away. The top 5,000 players will receive some sort of prize. Players may enter the tournament with 3,000 FPPs or through satellites offered 24/7.
Players that cash in consecutive Turbo Takedown tournaments will receive bonuses with a 5 VPP per $1 clear rate. A $100 extra bonus for every consecutive time they finish in the money up to maximum of $1,000 per month. Also, any player knocking out a member of Team PokerStars will receive a $1000 bonus.
Every week, PokerStars will offer $52,000 in weekly leaderboards to top Sit N Go players. The leaderboards will be divided into eight leaderboards by buy-in size. Each of the eight leaderboard will then be split into two categories catering to both casual and recreational players. In addition, every player that finishes in the top 10 of any weekly SNG leaderboard will receive an exclusive ticket to a Battle of the Planets monthly tournament with a $50,000 prize pool.
Players qualify for the leaderboard by earning Leaderboard Points in eligible SNGs. Points will be based on the number of players in the SNG (up to 40) and where you finish in each SNG. The Low Orbit Leaderboard will be determined by "blocks" of 20 tournaments, whereas the High Orbit Leaderboard will be determined by blocks of 100 tournaments. Your best 20 or 100 block point-wise will count towards the leaderboard. Blocks are in sequence (1-20, 21-40 etc).

Believe it or not, there was a time in online poker’s history that there was no such thing as rakeback. When the seeds of Rake Tracker were first planted in 2003 almost all poker rewards came in the form of bonuses. Soon players wanted more. The RakeTracker business first started small, offering rakeback to players on a one-on-one basis and through referrals.
As the business grew, RakeTracker.com was launched as one of the first full-scale rakeback providers on the internet providing players with additional perks that they could receive in addition to bonuses – payout out rakeback since 2004. Now many years later, players still flock to RakeTracker for industry leading rakeback deals, monthly poker promotions in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and top quality customer support.
All live and online card rooms take “rake” and “tournament fees” to run and operate their games. The amount of rake or fees taken will vary by game type and stake levels, but will generally be 5% of each pot for ring games and around 10% of the buy-in for tournaments.
With rakeback, players are returned a percentage of the rake that is attributed to them, usually 27%-40%. Simply put: Receiving rakeback and other promotions help winning poker players win more and losing poker players lose less. There is no reason not to get rakeback!
Getting rakeback is easy through RakeTracker: simply create a RakeTracker account, then using our referral links download the poker site’s software, add the tracker to your account and you are ready to go! Detailed instructions are available on each site’s review page.
Joining RakeTracker is FREE and easy. Creating a FREE account will give you instant access to rakeback from two dozen rooms on all major networks. RakeTracker members will also receive access to over $300,000 in monthly promotions including: Rake Races, Rake Chases, Freerolls and free poker coaching.
