WSOP Main Event- Qualify at USA-Facing Poker Rooms
05/27/2010A new summer is upon us and that can only mean one thing -- the kick off of the 41st annual World Series of Poker. On Friday, May 28th, a Casino Employees NLHE event and the $50k buy-in Poker Player's Championship will be the start of 57 events spanning 8 weeks, culminating with the World Series of Poker Main Event to be held from July 5th to 17th. It's not too late to qualify for these events. RakeTracker decided to go through our partner sites and find ways that players can qualify for the main event online in the coming days and weeks. In part 1 of 2, we highlight the main qualifiers available at USA-facing rooms.
Full Tilt Poker, the second largest site, has already qualified 345 players to the Main Event and they are adding more. They are offering $600+$40 qualifiers on May 30th at 4:30 PM ET and June 20th at 6:00 PM ET. The May 30th contest will guarantee 5 seats to the Main Event and a whopping 120 will be guaranteed for the June 20th affair. They will also run daily 200+16 satellites to the main event, with at least one package guaranteed in each tournament. Smaller satellites ranging from 40 FTPs to $100+9 will feed into these main qualifiers.
Nobody sends more players to the WSOP than PokerStars each year. The largest site on the internet, they offer a $665+35 qualifier on May 29th at 2:30 PM ET and May 30th at 7 PM ET. Ten packages are guaranteed for each tournament. A WSOP package will be given away for every $12,000 in the prize pool. PokerStars is also running $200+$15 Turbo Shootouts on May 28th at 8:31 PM ET.
At Ultimate Bet and Absolute, they are offering two notable qualifiers. On May 30th at 6:05 PM ET, they will run a satellite that will guarantee three $12k WSOP packages. On June 6th at 4 PM ET, the satellite will qualify at least 25 players. Players can buy-in to each tournament for $500+$30. Feeder satellites of $3-$60 are available.
At the Cake Poker Network, home of sites such as Cake Poker, Doyles Room, Red Star Poker and Power Poker, they will run a weekly qualifier that will award WSOP packages for each $12,500 in the prize pool. The buy-in will be $350+$24. Satellites of $5 to $27 will be available.
